Division of Sport and Youth Affairs hosted its annual Christmas Decorating Competition on Thursday December 19, 2019 and the spirit of the holidays was felt across the units. The Department of Sport, the Project Implementation Unit (PIU), the Accounts Department and the Occupational Safety and Health Unit (OSH) all went head to head for bragging rights. This year’s theme was “Share the Christmas Cheer” and participants embodied this in festive style by sharing food, drinks and merriment. As part of the competition, decorations were made using recyclable materials and followed a green colour scheme. When the smoke cleared, PIU emerged victorious copping first place with their “Christmas village” presentation, while the Accounts Department placed second with their presentation, “Sparkling Cheer”. The Sport Department rounded out the top three. As a new addition to the competition, members of staff also competed individually for the title of Mr./Mrs. Christmas Cheer. The competition resulted in a tie between Brittany Duncan of the Communications Unit and Melanie Second-Issac of the Accounts Department.
