The Tobago YMCA Aqua Warriors will embark on a three-day swimming championship from 18th – 20th October 2019 in Antigua and Barbuda. The ABSF swimming championships hosted by the Antigua and Barbuda Swimming Federation is the 6th edition of the competition.
15 members of the Tobago YMCA Aqua Warriors will compete at the champions under the tutelage of head coach Mosi Denoon and assistant coach Rochelle Pierre, who will both act as coach and competitors.
The 15-member swim team consists of, in the 8 & Under age category, Renata Thomas, Israel Jordan, Seanheim Alleyne and Sydney Sandy. In the 9 – 10 age category, Makayla Ollivierre, Malique Young and Kai Caruth.
In the 11 – 12 age category, Joseph Cox and national swimmer Jacob Cox. In the 13 – 14 age category, Timothy Clarke and Shellon Cunningham and in the 15 & Over age category Inez Thomas, Edwyn Thomas and national swimmers & coaches Rochelle Pierre and Mosi Denoon.
The Tobago YMCA Aqua Warriors will have four relay teams competing at the championships. The 10 & Under Relay Category has two relays comprising of Israel Jordan, Kai Caruth, Sydney Sandy and Malique Young in the 200-meter Freestyle Relay and in the 200-meter medley mixed relay Malique Young, Makayla Ollivierre, Israel Jordan and Renata Thomas will make up that team.
The 11 – 14 Freestyle Relay team consist of Joseph Cox, Shellon Cunningham, Timothy Clarke and national swimmer Jacob Cox as they compete in the 200 meter medley mixed relay.
The 15 & Over Mixed Relay team competing in the 200-meter medley mixed relay will consist of Edwyn Thomas, Inez Thomas, national swimmers Rochelle Pierre and Mosi Denoon.
The team of 15 is set to leave on Thursday 16th October to head over to Antigua where they would have their final training session before the start of the swimming championships on Friday afternoon at 6:00 pm.
