A team of national athletes including Tobago’s own Kelly Ann Baptiste, Semoy Hackett, Andwuelle Wright and Darren Alfred will head to Doha, Qatar on Wednesday (September 25) to participate in the 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships. The highly anticipated international meet is scheduled to run from September 27 to October 6.

Kelly-Ann and Semoy are due to participate in the Women’s 4x100m relay with Baptiste also making an appearance in the Women’s 1oom event. Meanwhile, the Kaizen Panther’s Darren Alfred will contribute to the Men’s 4x400m effort. Hot on the heels of his gold medal-earning performance at the recent North American, Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) Under-18 and U-23 Championships in Mexico, Wright is expected to showcase his skills in the Men’s Long Jump event.

The LaLonde Gordon Sport Development Fund (LGSDF) also extends best wishes to Hackett and Wright who are both beneficiaries of the Fund. Best of luck to the entire team!
