Tobago’s young leaders still have a chance to answer the call to serve on Tobago Youth Assembly (TYA). Youth aged 15-24 years are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity as the deadline for applications has been extended to August 16th 2020. The TYA aims to expose young persons to training and experience at all levels of governance and policy development. The programme stands to effectively establish a youth voice in the island’s legislative process. This initiative is a collaboration between the Division of Sport and Youth Affairs (DSYA), the Assembly Legislature and the Tobago Youth Council (TYC).

Available positions include: Councillor, Assemblyman, Presiding Officer, Clerk of the Assembly, Communications/Media Officer, Office Support Officer and Research Officer. The Youth Assembly will serve for one (1) year and is intended to reflect the current composition of the Tobago House of Assembly. Application forms are available online at For further information, the Department of Youth Affairs can be contacted at 612-DSYA (3792) ext. 1005 and 1007.
