The Division of Sport and Youth Affairs (DSYA) recognizes the importance of sport in strengthening the fiber of society. In an effort to ensure the safety and well-being of the general public, the operations Department of Sport is currently being guided by the advice of public health officials amidst the current global COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, members of the public are advised of the following:

  • The THA District Games 2020 has been cancelled.
  • The THA Sport Camp 2020 has also been cancelled.
  • All requests for the use of sporting facilities must be made to the Department of Sport.
  • Requests to stage team sport activities and competitions involving persons under 18 years of age, will not be approved.
  • Gatherings at ALL sporting facilities must not exceed 25 persons
  • No spectators are allowed at events.

Failure to adhere to the above guidelines can result in a person liable on summary conviction to a fine of fifty thousand dollars and imprisonment for a term of six months.

Members of the public are asked to adhere to public health safety guidelines such as maintaining proper hygiene, and practicing social distancing to ensure well-being of themselves and others while accessing the Division’s facilities, programmes or services.
