The Division Sport and Youth Affairs continues to place significant emphasis on the development of the island’s sporting facilities to enhance the experience of sportspersons and members of the general public alike.

A brand-new change room facility is now available to the public at Jubilee Park in Sangster’s Hill. These amenities will ensure a safe, secure, and comfortable changing area for athletes and sporting officials. The space includes accessibility for the differently abled, lockers and public toilet facilities with indoor and outdoor showers.

Meanwhile, the change room facility at the Patience Hill Recreation Ground is set to be delivered in early July. Construction on that project is ongoing, having begun in May. Additionally, the construction of the new Administrative Complex at the Shaw Park Recreational Facility is due to be completed in July. This building will house the Office of the Technical Director of Sport, meeting rooms and a VIP viewing area.

Technical Director of Sport Lyndell Hoyte-Sanchez shares, “Enhanced sporting facilities play an important role in the overall experience of everyone who access them. As such, the upgrades made to these spaces signal that the Division takes its responsibility to the sector very seriously.”

These projects are being spearheaded by the Division’s Project Implementation Unit (PIU) and work continues to have the facilities ready and available in the shortest possible time frame.
