Youth groups across Tobago will have the opportunity to share what their organisations are all about to students through a Youth Group School Expo.

Hosted by the District Service Unit within the Department of Youth Affairs, the programme will provide an opportunity to educate and bring awareness to students about various groups in their communities and aid in their development as a positive young person.

The Youth Group School Expo will be held at the following schools from 9:00a.m to 12:00noon; Bishops High School (22nd January), Goodwood Secondary School (23rd January) and Speyside High School (24th January). Themed “Get involved”, the expo will expose students to the benefits of volunteering and participating in clubs and organisations.

Speaking on the benefits of the Expo, Youth Development Officer Lyndon Wilson expressed.

“This programme will provide a great interactive opportunity for unattached youth to become involved in community based organisations and youth groups. All to the end of enhancing their personal self-development.”

The expo will include youth, non-government and community based organisation and groups such as Junior Chamber International, Rotaract, Tobago Precision Archery Club, Police Youth Clubs, Healing with Horses, Trash to Treasure and the Trinidad and Tobago Cadet Force.
