Approximately twenty (20) youth organisations from across Tobago are set to receive official Certificates of Registration from the Division of Sport and Affairs. These organisations were successfully registered with the Department of Youth Affairs following a public call for youth groups on the island to submit and/or update their information. Registered organisations are better positioned to access detailed assistance through the provision of resources and comprehensive support based on their specific needs. Some of the organisations that will receive certification include: Tobago Youth Council, Roxborough Police Youth Club, Argyle Youth Stars Youth Group, Trinidad and Tobago Youth Ambassadors, Moriah Police Youth Club and the Pink Diamond Society for Ladies.

Director, Youth Development, Ann Marie deGazon highlighted the importance of youth organisations formally registering with the Department of Youth Affairs. She shared, “This registration process provides an opportunity to deepen the relationship between the Division and our youth stakeholders. It allows the Department of Youth to optimise its databases, keep updated on their initiatives and service groups more efficiently. It lends itself to the creation of a totally enhanced experience regarding efforts to advance youth development on the island.”

The first certificate distribution ceremony will be held at the Anne Mitchel Gift Auditorium of the Scarborough Library Facility on Tuesday July 28, 2020. The Division continues to encourage and facilitate collaboration among stakeholders in the thrust towards positive youth development in Tobago.
