The DSYA’s District Games Cricket finals took place yesterday at the Shaw Park Recreational Ground as two intense games were played to decide which team would earn final bragging rights in their respective age groups. The first matchup took place in the Under 15 category as the finalists Green Machines and Blue Blasters went head to head to earn the top spot. Though the Blue Blasters made an impressive show of 150 runs for 5 wickets after 20 overs, the Green Machines were out for blood as they met their mark of 151 runs after only 15 overs without loss crowning themselves champions in the process. The Under 19 matchup took place shortly afterwards as the Western and Eastern Districts squared off against each other in a hard fought matchup. The East were first at bat and made a solid effort with 94 runs for 5 wickets at the end of 20 overs, however thanks to solid bowling and fielding the West were able to contain their opponents making it easy for them to attain victory with 96 runs at the loss of only 4 wickets.

Be sure to come out for the District Games 2019 Netball and Football finals, carded to take place on the 25th of August at the Canaan/Bon Accord Recreational Ground at 2:00pm.
