Tobago House of Assembly (THA) Sport Awards
Over the past several years, Tobago’s athletes have dominated the sporting arena nationally, regionally and internationally. The Tobago House of Assembly (THA) Sport Awards is aimed at recognizing the excellence displayed by Tobago’s sporting fraternity. The event is mandated to acknowledge and award outstanding athletic performances as well as the contributions of Tobago athletes, sporting organisations and sport administrators. It motivates Tobago’s sports men and women to strive continuously for excellence, while deepening the relationship between the Tobago House of Assembly, the public and private sectors both locally and nationally.
The Sport Camp is commissioned by the Division of Sport and Youth Affairs (DSYA) will be held in ten (10) different locations throughout Tobago targeting children between the ages of 7 and 15 years old. Sport Camp 2019 will be themed “Each One Teach One” and grounded on teaching each participant fundamental motor skills in the eleven (11) different sporting disciplines offered at each camp site. The disciplines hosted include: Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Beach Football, Archery, Tennis, Netball, Basketball, Golf, Swimming and Athletics.
Aimed at increasing the participation in physical activity of children between the ages of 10 to 19, the District Games creates an environment for the development of physical literacy, while bringing communities together. Competitions are held at sporting grounds and facilities across Tobago for a period of one month.
