It targets 100 secondary school students between the ages of 16 – 18 enjoyed four days of training, one day of interviews and 15 days of practical work experience at this year’s World of Work programme.
Tobago Youth Awards
The annual Tobago Youth Awards recognises the island’s youth and celebrate their accomplishments. This event continues to encourage, promote and challenge the Youth of Tobago to consistently excel, while serving to motivate other young persons.
The awards were conceived in 2003 to highlight and appreciate young Tobagonians (ages 12-29). This event promotes and rewards their achievements, as well as youth stakeholders (ages 30 and over), and youth and community organisations that actively contribute to youth development in Tobago.
Youth, youth leaders and community workers, are trained in various topics to enhance Positive Youth Development across stakeholders. Topics include several areas, including youth programming, program outcomes, building competencies, youth voice and youth engagement. This must be done by providing them with the tools they need to develop into future leaders and role models.
